Raúl Díaz es de los segundos, ya que elige como temas recuerdos e impresiones de su infancia, cuando su padre y su abuelo le llevaban a pescar a los lagos de los alrededores de Córdoba (Argentina), donde aún reside. Imágenes y texturas quedaron grabadas en lo más profundo del alma de este niño impresionable y aún le persiguen, alzándose como fantasmas - vagos, amorfos, enigmáticos - para dar forma a un mundo que, para nosotros los espectadores, es a la vez familiar y misterioso, reconfortante e inquietante. Más de 100 grandes imágenes a todo color y más de 50 pequeñas imágenes a todo color. Some artists make art as a direct response to what they see around them. They paint landscapes, cityscapes, interiors or other observable subjects. Others respond to what they see and find within themselves. Raul Diaz is of the second sort, choosing as subjects memories and impressions from his childhood, when his father and grandfather took him fishing in the lakes around Cordoba, Argentina where he still resides. Images and textures were etched deep within the soul of this impressionable child and they haunt him still, rising like ghosts -- vague, amorphous, enigmatic -- to shape a world that is, to us the viewers, both familiar and mysterious, both comforting and uneasy. More than 100 large full-color images plus more than 50 smaller full-color images.
