The biennial will serve as a seedbed or nursery for a few months or more, in which to sew, transplant, nurture and fertilise, to see what sprouts. Some green shoots will awaken new and old ways of doing, saying and listening, of reading, thinking and being together; others will settle into the mulch and become something else altogether. Conventional understandings of the biennial format as a show, of the audience as passive spectators, will be challenged. The diversity of invited projects offers a horizon for reorientation, for rethinking the platform’s formal and geographical parameters.Abstract: Más que un tema o un título, lo que unifica esta 17ª edición es un proceso: el compostaje. Un amplio abanico de artistas y otras iniciativas han sido invitados a compartir y desarrollar los elementos en bruto de sus prácticas. La bienal servirá de semillero o vivero durante unos meses o más, en los que coser, trasplantar, nutrir y abonar, para ver qué brota. Algunos brotes verdes despertarán nuevas y viejas formas de hacer, decir y escuchar, de leer, pensar y estar juntos; otros se asentarán en el mantillo y se convertirán en algo totalmente distinto. Se pondrá en tela de juicio la concepción convencional del formato bienal como espectáculo y del público como espectador pasivo. La diversidad de los proyectos invitados ofrece un horizonte para la reorientación, para repensar los parámetros formales y geográficos de la plataforma.
