Une grande variété de modes d'expression est représentée dans l'exposition : peinture, dessin, sculpture, assemblage, installation, photographie, vidéo, design, musique. Cette diversité rend compte de la richesse de la création africaine contemporaine, du Maghreb à l'Afrique du Sud en passant par l'Afrique sub-saharienne. "Africa Remix" devrait changer notre regard sur le mythe de l'Afrique."

The exhibition showcases 84 African artists or artists of African origin, men and women living on the African continent or elsewhere. Over 200 works are presented. Africa Remix is a survey of the most recent developments in African art. Remix means, for Jean Hubert Martin, curator of the Dusseldorf exhibition: "that the opportunities are being redistributed, that we find ourselves in the presence of a hybrid situation, a reflection of globalization". This exhibition presents an overview of African art today, in direct contact with the most innovative trends in contemporary creation.
Most of the artists featured deal with the current issues of a post-colonial African reality. They belong to a generation that has grown up with the Internet and is living the African mutations. A wide variety of modes of expression are represented in the exhibition: painting, drawing, sculpture, assemblage, installation, photography, video, design and music. This diversity reflects the richness of contemporary African creation, from the Maghreb to South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. "Africa Remix" should change the way we look at the myth of Africa."
